"Humor can be the initial attraction"
While waiting to make a donation to a mental hospital,
Victor Lawrence literally runs into what he thinks is a
mental patient in a wheelchair. After getting up, he finds
a beautiful zany woman who pushes his buttons. Trying to
get Ashley Lorentz back to her room, he learns she has no
hospital status. He falls in love with her offbeat wacky
sense of humor and, though prudent with his heart because
of his ex-wife, jumps into a relationship with this
intriguing woman. Ashley is a product of foster care and has low self-esteem
but valiantly tries to bring joy into the lives of others
around her. She is very tentative when it comes to giving
her heart away and she fears the agony of someone breaking
her heart and leaving. Ashley, a caring loving person, volunteers to watch over
Victor when he suffers a concussion. During the night, as
his injury worsens, he becomes disoriented and mistakes
Ashley for his ex-wife. When he wakes up in the hospital
with no memories of the evening, Victor must solve the
puzzle of what happened and figure out how to get Ashley
back. This novel runs the gamut from outrageous humor to heart-
breaking emotional upheaval. During the story, you pull
for the hero and then the heroine. MaryJanice Davidson's
style of story telling is very evident with LOVE LIES. Her
talent for pulling off these unusual circumstances is to be
applauded. Sensuality Hard R/erotic.
