"Adventurous and very hot love story"

Lady Jocelyn Fleming is fleeing for her life. To escape the murderer who has been dogging her heals for three years, she has traveled around the world, looking for the place that will keep her safe and allow her to start her thoroughbred breeding operation.

Colt Thunder is a quick-drawing, tough, and intimidating half-breed with a chip on his shoulder and scars on his back from the last time he was involved with a white woman. When Lady Fleming asks for his help, his answer is a resounding no. Of course, she has her ways of getting around that answer and persuades -- forces might be a better word -- Colt to escort her and her entourage to Wyoming.

When the attempts on her life grow more desperate and frightening, Colt takes the duchess away from her entourage for protection that only he can provide, and they are thrown together, all alone, until they reach Cheyenne. Not only is there an almost-constant battle of wits between these two strong-willed people, but Colt must fight himself daily to stay away from the oh-so-tempting redhead. He can't forget his past or what nearly killed him -- getting too close to a beautiful white woman who only saw him as a dirty half-breed.

Jocelyn doesn't know the meaning of the word prejudice, but Colt can't be convinced of that. She wants to heal his wounds, inside and out, but to get that close is nearly impossible. Her tenacity and courage make her the ideal heroine to his brooding, sexy hero. She is more than capable of taking on Colt's fears and teaching him to trust her.

SAVAGE THUNDER is Johanna Lindsey writing at her very best. The characters are colorful and realistic, the Old West setting is very detailed and authentic, and the supporting cast, which includes Jessie and Chase Summers from BRAVE THE WILD WIND, is very strong and adds depth to an already deep love story.

Summary

Jocelyn Fleming was a feisty, flame-haired aristocrat -- newly widowed after a shockingly brief marriage to an elderly British lord. Wealthy and titled, yet aching with the pain of unexplored desire, her restless heart led her from polite London society to the perilous beauty of the untamed American West.

Colt Thunder was a rebel, a loner. Impossibly handsome, brutally unpredictable, the Cheyene blood running through his veins burned hotter than the blistering Arizona sun.

In a bold and merciless land, their vastly different worlds collided -- the wild desert stallion and the untouched English rose -- igniting an unstoppable firestorm of frontier passion that threatened to consume them both!
