REVIEW

"Trying ot rescue her love from the past could change her future."

The Florida storm is a fierce one. Mala Bey has trouble keeping her car on the road while driving in it, so finds the strength of the man on the motorcycle that passes her unnerving. Her eyes meet his and she is strangely drawn to him. She finds herself building fantasies around him as she drives. When he loses control of his motorcycle and disappears into the wildness of the Everglades, Mala goes for help. When nothing is found, Mala finds herself returning to hunt on her own -- and hearing a voice in her mind.

Laird Jaeger is lost. How this came to happen he can't understand. He'd been walking for hours, but hadn't found his way out. His only connection with the outside world is through Mala. Visited by a being called Night Hunter, Laird finds himself becoming resigned to what is happening to him. However, Mala does not accept it. Determined to bring Laird -- or Thunder, as he now calls himself -- back to reality, Mala follows him into the Everglades. Will she be strong enough to bring him back, or end up being lost, also -- if lost is what he truly is.

This is an intriguing story, with a rather unique twist on the time travel theme. It moves along at a brisk pace. It was well written, with adeptly formed characters. So why didn't I really enjoy it? Part of it had to do with the setting. I'm not real found of the Everglades. Part of it had to do with the hero's power over the heroine and lack of power over his own future. I found the sex scenes to be somewhat lacking and the time frame for the whole story rather limited. Finally, I was disappointed in the way this story ended.

Sensuality--R. Masturbation; crude language; oral sex; descriptive sex. Monogamous relationship. Sexually explicit scenes: 8.

Summary

A savage Florida storm brings them together. But before Mala Bey can respond to the challenge in Laird Jaeger's black eyes and muscular body, he's sucked into the Everglades. She fears for this shadow man's life and despairs of seeing him again, but that night, his essence, his power, reaches out to ensnare her... He seems to exist only in her sex-starved imagination, and yet his message is overpowering. He needs her as much as she does him. Only she can save him. Beset by equal amounts of fear and the need to feel him inside her, she begins a search that takes her into the past...toward her warrior mate.
