REVIEW

"Boy, what I wouldn't give to have a cat like one of these!"

Lois Commoner wished she was dead. As a street cop relegated to a desk job because of injury, death didn't really seem that bad an alternative. Choosing to use pills, daiquiris, and a "Star Trek" marathon to do the deed, she hoped to wake up dead. What she did was wake up alive and in an alternate universe, being licked by a very large cat. Only the cat is much more than a cat, it's a really gorgeous male type person, Prince Damon. He takes her home with him where she meets his father and brothers -- and discovers that, though hard to believe, they truly consider her to be beautiful, scars and all. Lois is pleased to have a ringside seat for the fights the next day -- that is, until she comprehends what they are fighting for...

What to say about this story? How to impress you with how great I thought it was? Not sure, but I read it straight through and wished it was twice as long. Wonderful heroine, lots of fun. Fantastic hero, I would sure like one like him. "May I keep you?" -- love that line. Loved it in Casper and love it in this story. Am eagerly awaiting the next story set in this world.

Sensuality--R. Oral sex; masturbation; crude language. Monogamous relationship. Sexually explicit scenes: 4.

Summary

Detective Lois Commoner has had enough. Deciding to end it all as an escape to ongoing physical agony, she overdoses one night while Star Trek blares in the background. To her amazement, instead of waking up dead, she finds herself in the Sandlands...a startlingly beautiful world whose inhabitants are shape-shifters. An ordinary woman on Earth, Lois is fought over in the Sandlands, where tough, scarred women are prized as highly desirable mates. And it seems like the entire royal family has turned their attention to Lois, including the king, his heir, and the two younger princes. Let the Bridefight begin... Sexual Content: Hard R.
