"The Love of a She-Wolf"
Taneika was found in a wolf den when she was a baby. John
Swift Eagle was on the hunt for a renegade wolf who was
killing his sheep; after he shot the wolf, he found a
girl child sleeping with two wolf cubs. He took them
all to his home and the tribe allowed him and his wife Mary
Songbird to raise the girl. Taneika was
definitely "different". Just how different is all part of
the story. Taneika grew to a beautiful loving woman and entered
college to further her education. She lived in Cody,
Wyoming, in a little cottage thirty miles from the school
she was attending. It was hard to keep a wolf as a pet and
that is why she chose to live in the woods so people
wouldn't be afraid of her friend, Lobo. She had one
neighbor, Taren Carpenter, who enjoyed living in the woods
too. Taren was posing as a Ranger in the forest but he
really was working for the FBI and searching for drug
runners. He was close on their heels but still had quite a
few unanswered questions. He was given an order to check on
someone seeing a woman running naked through the woods with
a wolf at her heels, and he couldn't find anything, except
he followed the tracks back to Taneika's cottage. From here
things started to unfold. Taren asked Taneika to go to a
dance with him and this would be their first date. They
fell in love and one thing led to another. Meanwhile Taren's boss, Harold Fallings, took a dislike to
Taneika and her wolf. Events occurred to make Taren wonder
about his boss and start to put the pieces together. The
friends that Taren thought were his friends turned out not
to be so. This story is certainly different. I thoroughly enjoyed
reading this novel and once you get into the intrigue and
see a love blossom from a couple who are very different
from the norm, I know you will enjoy it too. Reviewed by Shirley Alguire for Sensual Romance.
