"the males are alpha, the women are strong and independent, and the relationships are intense"
Another winner from this author! Jaide Calanarre has left her past as Josie Carlos, the
obese girl nobody could love, far behind. However, because
of actions by her unscrupulous brother, her credit is
ruined; her ship, the Bat, stolen; and her life is all
about work and paying off debts her brother caused. She is
a partner with Sesame Calais, and the two are the best ship
augmenters in the business. An augmenter is an expert at
boosting the power of starships, cloaking technology, and
so forth. Skye D'rath and Nemesis Spectere, Draconians or Dragonlords
as they are known on Earth, have need of the expertise of
Sesame and Jaide. Locating them on a lunar station during
an extreme flu epidemic, they make them an offer they
cannot refuse, and both women wake up on board the Black
Tide, the ship they have contracted to augment. From that point on, sparks fly. Jaide and Sesame begin
their work on the ship, both women attempting to ignore
their attraction to Skye and Nemesis. The story line
focuses on Jaide and Skye, with the romance between Nemesis
and Sesame being secondary. Again, as in Ms. Dawn's
previous book, the males are alpha, the women are strong
and independent, and the relationships are intense. The
story line is interesting, and the sex is HOT! I have found a new author to add to my list of favorites.

SummaryAugmenter Jaide Calanarre has three goals: to be debt free,
stable, and free of men. Being kidnapped with her partner
by a crazy band of Draconians doesn't fit in with her
plans. Neither does Skye D'rath.
Skye wasn't looking for a woman to complicate his life.
Meeting Jaide changed all that in a hurry. Fire lurked just
underneath the surface of the independent, quarrelsome
woman, and he knew the right man could set it loose. He was
confident he was up to the job.
But there's more to worry about for Jaide than fending off
Skye's determined pursuit and revving up his captain's
ship. Someone wants to kill her, her partner is falling for
the captain of their captors, and she's beginning to
suspect there's more to their abduction then meets the eye.
As everything she thought she knew is turned upside down,
dare she overcome her distrust of men and reach for a love
as powerful as the chance to Ride the Stars.
