"Gripping and emotional tale of love found in the past"
AFTER THE STORM is a gripping and emotional tale of love
found in the past. It is the year 1314, and Thomas MacGregor, the MacGregor,
rules as laird of his clan with a fierce determination and
an iron fist. He is a man who flourishes in a time of
skirmishes with rival clans, when death is faced every day. Maya Jones is an archeologist from the year 2001, sent back
in time along with her best friend Dr. Sara Chance, by a
freak storm. They come to realize they are meant to be
there, that historical lore shows two demon women appearing
from a storm. Accepting their fate is a bit harder. Maya is a woman used to equality, to deciding her own life
and the path she is on. Thomas is used to deciding the
fate of his clan, to speaking and being obeyed. Sparks fly
as these two determined lovers learn about each other, and
learn how to love and compromise. Jade Black, writing as Tia Isabella, tells a vivid tale of
life and love, in the Scottish Highlands. The intimate
power struggle between Thomas and Maya is humorous and
sexy, while helping to flesh out the characters. All of the
supporting characters have a place and aren't needless
fluff. Some even have their own mini romances to tell. I have always been in love with historical Scotland, and
time travel tales are a personal favorite of mine. Having
them combined together in Jade/Tia's intense style, I found
myself unable to stop reading until the last word crossed
my screen. Rated: Hard R.
