"Time Travel with a twist"
Kane is a Planabotonologist at NASA headquarters in Houston
in the year 2429 AD. She searchs for and collects plant
life from various planets to make medicines for the people
of her time. Linder, her boss and friend, has asked her to
take a trip through time and try to find the "kabitross"
plant. This plant has a cure for the dreaded disease BV-5,
which has inhabited their time, and Linder's grandson is
stricken with it. BV-5 is a Brain Virus that lays dormant
in the body for seventeen months then attacks the brain
full force. It literally implodes the brain and death is
inevitable. Of course Kane agrees to go, even though the
Time Travel has not been perfected as yet. Kane arrives unscathed in the eighteenth century 1776. She
has a house just on the outskirts of Blackmore, England.
She is taken with the beauty of the countryside, the grass,
trees, birds, animals are all things she has never seen in
her 26 years. She has just read of them from the history
books and tapes. She has been implanted with a serum that
gives her instant knowledge of the time but unfortunately
it is not all exact. The history of Kane's time did not
have a lot of information about the eighteenth century. Kane meets the humanoid of her dreams while she is bathing
nude in a nearby pond. George William Frederick Alexander
Wyndom, ninth Earl of Blackmore and heir to the Duke of
Browning, was riding through his lands and heard singing.
He watched Kane for a while before he introduced himself to
her. They were immediately attracted to each other and the
storyline continues. The way Kane's life and learning of the "old ways", her
talents, are used to help the people of Blackmore makes for
a very good read. George has an archrival who vows to kill
Kane and George so he can inherit the title which he
believes he is owed. The suspense keeps the story flowing.
Kame must decide whether to stay and live out her life in
this new time. I totally enjoyed this book and will read it again one day. Rated by R Ellora's Cave.

SummaryThe inhabitants of 25th century earth are dying. A deadly
brain virus is taking a large death toll and it is up to
one scientist to stop it. The problem for Dr. Kane Edmonds
is that the one form of plant-life she believes is
necessary for a cure has long been extinct, dwelling
nowhere else within the solar systems except the earth's
past. Kane plans for every contingency when she agrees to
travel through time to hunt down the life-saving plant.
Every contingency, that is, except for falling in love.
When Kane meets George Wyndom, the dark and formidable Earl
of Blackmore, she wonders if she'll ever be able to let him
go. What Kane doesn't understand is that she has no say in
the matter, for the handsome earl is determined to keep
her.
