REVIEW

"Hot and Sexy!"

Poor Sophie Morton has always had a very bad sense of direction. Now on the way back to the home office from a meeting, she gets horribly lost, goes down an alley and comes upon a guy man-handling a woman. She parks her car, gets out and tackles the man. Then she tells the woman to call 911. The woman takes one look at her and runs. Not only that, she steals Sophie's car! What's up with that?

Then Sophie finds out that the guy is Detective Blake Barker and he was arresting the woman because she's the girlfriend of a very dangerous Asian mobster. Not only that but Sophie has broken Blake's leg. Whoops!

Then Sophie overhears a phone conversation of an employee of the bank blackmailing someone to the tune of a cool million dollars. She contacts the police department and the detective tells her to meet him at a safe house. She meets none other than Blake Barker and his partner, John. How in the world does she get involved in all this trouble?

Blake pretends to be an employee of the bank because somehow or other the bank that Sophie works is tied into money laundering. Not only that but suddenly someone tried to run over Sophie. Blake has no choice but to keep her close so he can keep an eye on her. This leads to interesting situations but as soon as the case is over, then they will part ways, right?

I had a lot of fun reading this book. Poor Sophie with her sense of direction was a hoot. Blake was a hunk of a cop who didn't want to admit that Sophie got to him in more ways than one. In my book, Nancy Warren has been batting a thousand with every book she's written. This one is no exception! I eagerly look forward to each and every one of her books!

Summary

Sophie Morton has no sense of direction, in geography or in life, and when shešs lost she suffers panic attacks. Lost in a bad part of Vancouver, she pulls over to catch her breath when she spots a lean and dangerous looking man attacking a woman. Without thought for her own safety, Sophie tackles the man, knocks him down and breaks his leg. Except Blake Barker isn't a criminal, but a cop who'd been about to arrest a member of a notorious Asian triad before Sophie interfered and helped the woman escape.

When it turns out that the investment bank Sophie works for is suspected of laundering the triad's drug money, and one employee dies under suspicious circumstances, Blake is sent in undercover to the bank: cast, crutches and all.

Sophie and Blake don't much like each other, but their sexual attraction is too intense to resist. When it's clear Sophie's life is in danger, she's forced to move in with Blake for protection. Maybe he can protect her body while he pleasures her, but who's going to protect her heart?
