"A heart wrenching tale."
Sam Winslow's fourteen-year-old daughter Melanie has
aplastic anemia and desperately needs a bone marrow
transplant. Sam hires a private investigator to find her
biological mother. When he finds Rebecca Martinson and
meets her for the first time, he sees where his daughter
inherited her beauty. All Sam wants from Rebecca is her
permission to be tested to see if she is a match. What Sam doesn't know is that Rebecca has been
keeping secrets about Melanie's conception since she
was seventeen years old. These secrets have the potential
to hurt a lot of people if the truth comes out.
Nevertheless, Rebecca agrees to go through with the testing
and
when she finds out she's a match, she agrees to have her
bone marrow harvested for Melanie but she has one
condition. That condition turns out to be that she have
one month to spend with Melanie, only one month out of her
whole life. Sam reluctantly agrees but he has no way of
knowing that he and Rebecca will fall for each other in a
big way. Will they be able to go back to their former
lives once that month is over? This story was not only heart wrenching but it also
hit very close to home as I have an adopted niece and
nephew. I have been a big fan of Jamie Denton's for a
quite a while and this book is one of the reasons why! I am
avidly looking forward to her next book.
