REVIEW

"Hot erotic fantasy of revenge."

SINS OF THE FATHER is a whirlwind of action, with author Black compressing an entire story in just 58 pages. This e- book is great for an erotic one-sitting read, but those looking for an emotionally fulfilling story will find it a bit lacking.

Candace Morgan has lusted after James Douglas Mahoney III since she was 13 and he 23. No one felt worse than she when her billionaire father unfairly fired JD, stealing his young protégé's ideas in the process. Now years later, 40- year-old JD possesses the power to destroy the company. He gives Candy an ultimatum: submit to him in atonement for her dead father's sins or watch her family be torn apart.

The rest of this story is a combination of really hot sex and attempts to establish characterization within the limited word count. JD is at times a sexually dominant alpha and at other moments an almost tender lover. However, because of the brevity of this book, the dichotomy between the two personas is a bit stark; if the story were expanded, the transformation would have been more believable.

Also stretching the believability factor is that Candy signs a prenup that states that she must submit to JD in every single matter. "According to Clause 76, I, the undersigned, am supposed to offer my body as a sperm receptacle to my husband twice daily, every day, for as long as we both shall live." Extremes such as this are the basis for much of this tale.

However, it is true that this story is meant to be more fantasy than fact. Though the behavior of the h/h is fantastic, these two really do burn up the pages! The sex is heated and graphic; the only obvious fault in the scenes is the overuse of certain explicit words -- a good thesaurus or some judicious editing could have solved this. Fans of Black's work will find this book up to her usual sexy standards, though perhaps a bit too short for complete emotional satisfaction.

Sensuality: NC17, masturbation, anal sex, light exhibitionism, oral sex.
