REVIEW

"Dark, mysterious setting, red-hot love scenes, a strong heroine and a tortured hero"

Christine Feehan's LAIR OF THE LION is a double delight for fans of both paranormal and sensual romance!

Isabella Vernaducci is a beautiful, strong-willed heroine who seeks out the infamous Don Nicolai DeMarco to help rescue her imprisoned brother. Rumors abound about the mysterious Don, the family curse, and a palazzo haunted by dangerous lions and supernatural forces, but nothing will stop Isabella Vernaducci.

Don Nicolai is a handsome, powerful man plagued by the DeMarco family curse. Nicolai makes a bargain with the lovely, desirable Isabella to take her as his bride. Will their love overcome the curse of the beast or will the curse destroy them both?

Christine Feehan weaves a gothic romance filled with tortured souls, deception and, most of all, true love. Its dark, mysterious air holds the reader spellbound and its highly sensual lovemaking will leave the reader begging for more. As well as a wonderful heroine and hero, the secondary characters add an extra dimension that will keep the reader engrossed until the end of the book.

LAIR OF THE LION captured everything I love in a good read — a dark, mysterious setting, red-hot love scenes, a strong heroine, and a tortured hero who will rip your heart out (literally and figuratively). In my opinion, LAIR OF THE LION is not a mere 'beauty and the beast' tale, but an engrossing story of true love overcoming the darker emotions of the human condition. I highly recommend LAIR OF THE LION to readers of paranormal and sensual romance who enjoy the same qualities in their books. Happy reading!

Summary

Impoverished aristocrat Isabella Vernaducci will defy death itself to rescue her imprisoned brother. She'll even brave the haunted, accursed lair of the lion—the menacing palazzo of legendary, lethal Don Nicolai DeMarco. Rumor says the powerful don can command the heavens, that the beasts below do his bidding...and that he is doomed to destroy the woman he takes as his wife. But Isabella meets a man whose growl is velvet, purring heat, whose eyes hold dark, all- consuming desire. And when the don commands her to become his bride, she goes willingly into his muscled arms, praying she'll save his tortured soul...not sacrifice her life.
