"Return to the world of the Shadow Dwellers with a sexy were-cat romance"
Erihn, the author of a lot of popular, steamy romances, is
something of a contradiction. Abused as a teenager, she
fears men, even though the heroes she writes about are
darkly tormented lovers who capture the hearts of women
all over the world. Her latest blockbuster is a book about
a were-cat, and she got the idea from a diary she found in
her friend Shai's library. She didn't realize that her
friend's husband, the fabulously wealthy and dashing
Valentin, was an ancient vampire, meaning that the diary
had more of a basis in reality than she could ever imagine. Fayne is a were-cat, and an itchy one at that. When he sees
Erihn he's infatuated, and she seems to understand him
better than he thought possible. Enter Jennifer, friend to both Fayne and Erihn. Seeing
their mutual interest, she arranges a little weekend away
for them both -- hoping the sparks will fly! SHAMELESS is JC Wilder's best yet. With humor, love, and a
liberal dose of poignant sensuality, we are seduced back
into the world of the Shadow Dwellers in this third book in
the series. The characters grow and change as they fall in
love in this powerful story of acceptance, leaving the
reader well satisfied in the end. Though the story does
involve a suspenseful thread about the evil beings who hunt
for the diary that Erihn has found, the romance is the most
prominent feature. Returning readers will enjoy seeing
their friends Shai, Jennifer, Valentin, and Mac again (from
the previous novels) but it does not seem strictly
necessary to have read volumes I and II in the series to
enjoy this story. SHAMELESS will definitely appeal to
readers of shapeshifter romance, and fans of Dara Joy (who
don't mind a little dark suspense in their romance) should
enjoy it as well. SHAMELESS was first published by Dreams Unlimited (now
defunct) but is now available through LTDBooks in many
formats. Sensuality guide: Steamy. Explicit sex scenes are included,
but they are lovingly romantic rather than bluntly erotic.
