"Time travel with well-developed characters and in-depth story line."
Dr. Maya Jones and her friend, Dr. Sara Chance, are about
to go on an archeological dig in the Scottish Highlands at
the ruins of Castle MacGregor. Since they will be gone for
several months, the two decide to go to a hurricane party
in Tampa, Florida, instead of evacuating like a sane person
would do. When someone Maya does not want to see shows up
at the party, both women leave the party and take a stroll
on the beach, where they are swept up into strange clouds
advancing with the hurricane. They reappear in the Scottish
Highlands in 1314 A.D., at Castle MacGregor. Thomas MacGregor is the undisputed leader of the MacGregor
clan, and he is like no man Maya has ever seen. Their
interaction, whether fighting or loving, is always
passionate and often humorous. Thomas has no idea what to
do with a woman from the 20th century, and Maya, while
intellectually understanding the dynamics of relationships
in the 1300's, simply cannot keep her mouth shut. There are several other romances going on between the other
characters in the book, but Maya and Thomas are the lead
players. A really enjoyable book. I have read and loved several
stories by Jaid Black, but somehow I had thought the R
rated books by Tia Isabella would not be as good. In fact,
the characters here are more developed, the story line is
much more in depth, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Rated R by Ellora's Cave.
