REVIEW

"Hilarious, sexy and suspenseful"

Four co-workers who get together every Friday evening make up a list of their requirements for the perfect man. They expand the tongue-in-cheek list having a hilarious time during dinner. They are surprised to find the list takes on a life of its own and within a week, is broadcast from one side of the country to the other.

Jaine Bright, one of the list makers, lives next door to good-looking cop, Dan. They start their relationship by insulting each other but it soon turns into caring and passion.

One of the four is murdered leaving the other three fearing for their lives as they receive strange phone calls about their participation in the list.

Mr. Perfect has some laugh-out-loud dialog. Jaine's confrontations with her neighbor, Dan, are a riot. Jaine is a wonderfully feisty heroine and although Dan starts out as a rather dark hero, he becomes Mr. Perfect for Jaine. He is an ideal alpha hero to match a lively heroine. He is strong, sexy and hot! I especially enjoyed the scene of Jaine looking next door only to see her neighbor profiled through the window wearing nothing but a grin.

Ms. Howard has some fascinating secondary characters. The list makers are a fun and close-knit group while the murderer is sick, dark and deadly. The first half of Mr. Perfect is very light and funny but it takes a turn in the second half to serious and suspenseful. This book has a little bit of everything to keep the reader turning the pages along with a surprise ending. The suspense takes second place to the main focus of love and romance. The incomparable Linda Howard has done it again.
