REVIEW

"Historical time-travel: life in 1600, 2000, and 2400."

Katrina Lunne, a modern day physician in London, has an accidental run-in with a time traveler from the year 2400. She winds up in the year 1600, and he has to rescue her before she changes history or gets burned as a witch. Aidan, the time traveler from the future, was visiting London in the year 2000 to recover art work about to be lost in a fire. Katrina's dog knocks Aidan down in the park at a crucial instant, when he is about to be "beamed" back to his time; and she and her pet get bumped back 400 years, while he travels forward.

Not what I expected. I was looking for something more along the lines of a time travel romance similar to those by K.M. Moning. Instead, I got a history lesson. Not much romance or sex, and lots of detail about living conditions in the 1600's. A bit heavy for me due to the history. But if you are a history buff, then this might be your cup of tea. I think the author was probably very factual about the lives of people in the 1600's, and how a woman from the 20th century would not fit in.

While well-written from an historical viewpoint and with well-developed characters and storyline, I have never been fond of books about this particular period in time.
