"The Bounty Hunter gets her man!"
Jarla, a bounty hunter, is searching for a man who can
conquer her, a man who will do more than simper and
pretend. A man she can believe in and fully give herself
to. She's also, incidentally, searching for a murderer on
the run. Her two quests meet head-on in Stone City, where a
fire puts her right beside her quarry as they fight to save
slaves who have been trapped in the blaze. As she learns
more about Thallin, though, she starts to wonder about
where her job should end, and her pleasure should begin. Don't let the title fool you. Though it sounds
contemporary, TOO HOT TO HANDLE is a fantasy title set in
the world of Ms. Morgen's popular Way of the Wolf series.
It
is a short story, so there isn't a lot of in-depth
development, but Ms. Morgen still manages to fit in a lot
of characterization and a bit of world-building. Her sex is
hot, too, but it doesn't overwhelm or control the plot. For
those who haven't read the Way of the Wolf books, this
might be a good place to start, and for those who already
love the series, this is a great little filler between
titles. There are a few references to the first of the
series, but it is not necessary to have read it to
understand and enjoy TOO HOT. This story is highly
recommended to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy tale.
