"Hilarious vampire romance"
Betsy Taylor was having one doozy of a time. She started
out late for work one morning, and ended up getting hit by
a car while trying to convince her contradictory cat to
come out of the snow. Waking up dead (or undead) in cheap
shoes didn't improve her temper any. Then she found out
that she was actually a vampire, and things just kept going
downhill from there. Turns out, the big bad vampire in town
wants her to join him, the dishy and unbearably autocratic
Sinclair wants her to help him, too! Add to that a cop
obsessed with her, a best friend who insists on staying in
touch, and her family -- after all, why should you have
your family believe you're pushing daises while you're
still walking around? This review can be summed up in three words: Buy This Book. For those of you who want more details -- Ms Davidson has
created a masterpiece here. Betsy's characterization is
amazing, and the voice of the novel (written in first
person) is just hilarious. The hero is magnificent, and
there is actually a romance. There really is no comparison
between this story and the early Anita Blake books by
Laurell K. Hamilton, but if you enjoy Anita Blake, UNDEAD
is just as good, is more humorous, and has a lighter tone
to it. The story is fast-moving and engrossing, and there
are lots of vamp politics and relationships to explore,
leaving space open for sequels. For those who need a
warning: the book does include some minor female/female
sexual contact, but it is brief and very essential to the
characterization. There's only two things that are upsetting about UNDEAD.
One: It's fairly short -- you breeze through it and wish it
wasn't finished. Two: There's only one of them. Ms.
Davidson, I hope you hurry with the next in the series --
I'm already impatiently waiting!

SummaryBetsy Taylor is having a helluva week. She's been laid off,
her stepmother boycotted her birthday party (again), her
cat isn't speaking to her, she can count on one hand how
often she's gotten laid in the last 18 months, and she's
dead.
As if this wasn't bad enough, she can't seem to stay dead.
She rises each night in search of unholy sustenance and
designer footwear. Worse, the other vampires are convinced
she's been Foretold...in other words, she's the new vampire
queen.
More concerned with her looks than vamp politics, Betsy
just wants to keep her head down and adjust to her new
liquid diet. Trouble is, the only vampires who want her
more than the good guys are the bad guys. And when the good
guys are ruthless, and the bad guys are unhinged, and they
ALL want to have sex with her to cement their power base,
it's tough for a modern girl to keep her shapely butt out
of trouble...and out of bed.
UNDEAD AND UNWED is rollicking, sexy good fun, sure to get
your pulse rate up and your funny bone throbbing!
