REVIEW

"Great vampire erotica - Waking up in the morning had never been this bad"

Late for work, only to find out she'd been laid off, Elizabeth Taylor (not that one!) found her day going down hill from there. And it wass her birthday! The only bright spot was the call she received from Detective Berry. She'd been attacked a few months before by some creeps (not raped, just bitten and scratched) and he was working on her case. The real downer came, though, when she was hit by a car while rescuing her cat and woke up dead -- in a coffin. After trying various ways to stay dead and go to her just reward, Betsy finally has it pointed out to her that she's not a zombie as she first thought, but a vampire. Being a vampire takes some getting used to, especially since a lot of the vampire rules she thought were standard fare didn't apply at all, at least to her.

Getting the hang of her new powers and letting her family and friends know she's still active gives Betsy some real satisfaction -- particularly when it comes to her wicked step-mother. And she soon gets on with her "life" with a little -- oh, well, make that a lot -- of help from her friends. Then she meets Sinclair. Talk about tall, dark and handsome... and vampire. This gets her introduced to vampire politics in which she doesn't want to get involved, but she may not have a choice. After all, it is written in the book of the dead...

UNDEAD AND UNWED snags your attention from the first sentence and doesn't let go until the last word. Told in the first person, this is a fast-moving story with a heroine who is comparable to a cross between Evanovich's Stephanie Plum and Hamilton's Anita Blake. With a lot of humor and not a lot of gore, Davidson creates characters that you can enjoy sharing your time with and hope to meet again.

Sensuality--NC17. Fairly descriptive sex; masturbation; multiple participants sex; oral sex; anal sex; same gender sex.

Summary

Betsy Taylor is having a helluva week. She's been laid off, her stepmother boycotted her birthday party (again), her cat isn't speaking to her, she can count on one hand how often she's gotten laid in the last 18 months, and she's dead.

As if this wasn't bad enough, she can't seem to stay dead. She rises each night in search of unholy sustenance and designer footwear. Worse, the other vampires are convinced she's been Foretold...in other words, she's the new vampire queen.

More concerned with her looks than vamp politics, Betsy just wants to keep her head down and adjust to her new liquid diet. Trouble is, the only vampires who want her more than the good guys are the bad guys. And when the good guys are ruthless, and the bad guys are unhinged, and they ALL want to have sex with her to cement their power base, it's tough for a modern girl to keep her shapely butt out of trouble...and out of bed.

UNDEAD AND UNWED is rollicking, sexy good fun, sure to get your pulse rate up and your funny bone throbbing!
