"Sexy futuristic fantasy -- Earth woman and psychic alien cop."
Shimeria's population had been dwindling and female births
were becoming rare. The planet's scientists went in search
of a possible solution. They decided on a temporary
solution of importing females from other planets or having
the males go off planet for mates. After researching
several planets, they discovered that Earth offered the
greatest possibilities. The governments of the two planets
came to an agreement and signed the ShimEarth Friendship
Treaty. This allowed Shimeria to share their technology and
medical advances with Earth. At first, none of the women on
Earth wanted anything to do with this agreement. As time
went on, it became clear that some rules were necessary and
so they created the Courtship Laws. These included three
courtship or engagement options -- Seduction, Challenge, or
Capture. Kate is an independent woman who doesn't need or want a man
in her life. She is a lawyer and has spent most of her
adult life being in charge. She's attracted to Tair but
doesn't plan to give him her heart. Just because he's tall,
dark, and gorgeous doesn't mean that he is any different
from the other men she's known. She just has to spend a
couple of weeks on Shimeria for some fun sex and then she
can go back home with a clear conscience. Shimeria males have psychic abilities that allow them to
read minds, especially those of their pact mates. Tair
da'Kamon is a psychic warrior cop who is used to being in
charge. He knows all of Kate's deepest fantasies, and plans
to make them come true. Since Kate has chosen the Oath of
Challenge, he has two weeks to seduce her into wanting to
stay. This is the second book in Marly Chance's Oath series and I
highly recommend both. This was a fun read from the
beginning and I couldn't put it down. My only wish is that
there were more books written by this author. Sexual Content: NC-17, graphic sex.
