"Another winner from Shelby Morgen!"
Before Charlie Giles opened her horse farm, she worked for
the government. Now that she's retired, though, all she
wants is to raise her horses in peace. Then she meets
Andrew Bailey. Drew is an ex-con on the run. He arrives in his hometown
and sneaks into Charlie's barn. Over time, Charlie becomes
intrigued with the helpful ghost living in her barn. Then
one night he is attacked by some of the local boys, and
Charlie must confront the man behind the mystery. Charlie finds it easy to forget Drew's past. It doesn't
matter to her that he was convicted of murder, or that he
spent more than a decade in prison. It does irk her,
however, when she learns that he confessed to a murder he
didn't remember committing . . . It wasn't something she
could forget, or let go, and so Charlie begins her own
investigation. It's an investigation that will have them
combing through the dark secrets that the small West
Virginia town would rather leave hidden, and one that will
bring them all too close to the dangerous truth. I will admit to being initially wary of Redemption, but
the mention of Charlie's former occupation, combined with
the fact that Shelby Morgen wrote it, convinced me that I
wanted to try it. I'm extremely glad I did. Though it
started off a bit slowly, it kicked into high gear within
a few chapters, sucking me right into the story. The sex
was great, but this is definitely more than a simple
erotic story. The mystery unfolds slowly and gently, but
is totally enthralling. It reads like a sexy category
romance, and any reader of romantic intrigue should try
this refreshingly spicy novel.
