"Hale's long-awaited story has arrived!"

For those of us who have been eagerly awaiting Hale's story, the wait is finally over! As you may recall, Hale is Zoë's half brother. We met Zoë in APHRODITE'S KISS. Hale has serious mortal problems as in he tolerates them for Zoë's sake since she is a halfling (half mortal, half Protector).

Now Hale and Zoë have been given another assignment. It seems that Aphrodite's girdle has been missing for years and years and now seems to have shown up. If a Protector, specifically Hieronymous, gets his hands on this belt, he could literally take over the world. It seems that the belt is in the hands of mortal Tracy Tannin, granddaughter to Tahlula Tannin, star of the silver screen. Tracy has no idea what she has but when she wears it, everybody fauns at her feet. It is a heady feeling since she feels she's a plain Jane!

Hale figures he'll seduce Tracy and then persuade her to hand over the belt to him. He has no idea what he's getting himself into. There's just something about Tracy that draws Hale in. He has to keep fighting it though because he will be damned if he will get involved with a mortal. She'll just end up leaving him like everybody else has.

Tracy has had a major crush on Hale since she first saw him on the cover of the romance novels that she loves to read. She can't believe she's finally getting to meet him and he seems interested in her. Is there more to this than it seems?

I not only enjoyed this book immensely but I got a big kick out of visiting with all of the other characters from the other books that Julie Kenner has written. It was like visiting family and that's one of the reasons that Julie's books are so enjoyable to me. I eagerly look forward to a story about Mordi, Hale and Zoë's cousin! This book is highly recommended!
