"Long awaited story of Kara and Cam!"
Book 4 in the Trek Mi Q'an series. The story of, mostly,
Kara Q'ana Tal (daughter of Kyra and Zor from book 1) and
her flight from her Sacred Mate, Cam K'al Ra. Frightened of
her fierce mate, she and her sister Jana flee in Kara's
22nd year. They head for Galis, a planet ruled by women. As
far as their families and Cam know, however, the transport
they were in crashed, and both Jana and Kara perished. Kara is adopted by Kari (we met her in book 3). Five years
later, she is hunting males in the Galian forest. Her
sister Dari has left her mate Gio, and in searching for
her, Kara's existence is revealed. Cam immediately leaves
to find her, of course. There is a subplot about Jana and her Sacred Mate, and we
have a side-trip to the legendary planet Khan-Gor. In NO ESCAPE, Black's intricate balancing of characters
becomes evident as the Trek Mi Q'an universe grows. As
before, the main plot is a story of the capture of a Sacred
Mate -- this time Cam's capture of Kara. Fans of the series
have no doubt waited for this volume since finishing book
1. (I know I did!) It is another strong volume in the series, though Kara and
Cam's romance does get shoved off to the side a bit as
Black builds onto her universe and other characters give
hints about their own stories. The emotional relationship
between Cam and Kara is well worth the read and NO ESCAPE
is really quite enjoyable. Note: To enjoy and fully understand this story it is
necessary to have read the previous volumes in the Trek Mi
Q'an series.
