REVIEW

"Solid romance with hot sex and fun characters"

ENSLAVED picks up where NO MERCY left off. It is the story of Kil Q'an Tal and his Sacred Mate, Marty Matthews. Marty is a bra-burning protestor in 1967 America when she is sucked into an alternate dimension. She ends up on the planet Tron, in a village of fierce warrior women (with names like Tulip and Flora, no less). They go to war with King Kil, and she's captured.

Made King Kil's servant, she falls in love, but then escapes with a fellow servant because she sees no future in her relationship with him. Kil realizes she is his Sacred Mate (after she is gone!) and goes after her, finding her just as she is about to hatch.

We are taken back in time to see Marty's arrival in the wani culture and her meeting with Kil, which is gratifying. Kil is delved into more throughly, revealing that he really is "hero" material. Overall, ENSLAVED is a strong step in the Trek Mi Q'an sequence and one that contains hints as to the future of the series. One need not mention the hot sex scenes that pepper this book -- it is, after all, a Jaid Black novel!

The book has subplots where Kara, Dari, and Jana, royal princesses introduced in the previous books, prepare their escape from their homes, and Kara (Kari) and Death meet.

Please note: To enjoy and fully understand this story, it is necessary to read books 1 and 2 in the sequence.
