"Black's best contemporary title to date IMO."
Kris Torrence is a university professor of anthropology who
is getting bored with her life, so she decides to do
something wild and crazy and completely out of character
from how people see her. She has always had a fantasy of
being dominated sexually, so she takes a job as a for-hire
sex slave at Atlantis Island, a resort for wealthy
gentlemen She figures she'll be safe because nobody will
know her there. Enter into the scene Jack McKenna. Jack is a wealthy
businessman who finances a lot of the research in the
anthropology department Kris works in and has also been a
thorn in her side for the past two years. Jack has wanted
Kris for a long time but for various reasons has never
admitted it to her. When Jack vacations on Atlantis Island
and sees a naked woman who resembles Kris he immediately
wants her for that very reason and decides to buy her. When
he sees her face his vacation suddenly gets a lot brighter
for him. This is definitely Black's best contemporary title in my
opinion and in my top two for all of her titles. The sex in
this book is burning hot; there really isn't a better way
to describe it. I haven't read an erotic romance author yet
who is better than Black at coming up with so many sexual
situations in one book and making them so different that
your eyes stay glued to the book (or in the case of this
ebook, glued to the screen). It does make you wonder where
she comes up with it but who cares if she keeps writing ;-) What makes The Possession a keeper for me is the romance
because it's just as burning hot as the sex in this book.
Jack is my favorite of her heroes to date. He's a virile
alpha male with a heart of gold beneath the rough exterior.
You will also find the secondary characters very intriguing
and it becomes obvious by the end that there are plans for
a sequel that has the potential of being even better than
this one. Sensuality Guide: monogamous sex with main characters,
exhibitionism, a little voyeurism, light bondage, oral sex,
fondling, graphic language, graphic depictions. Reviewed by Yolanda Jackson for Sensual Romance.
