"Paranormal Romance"
Volume III of Wilder's The Shadow Dwellers Series involves
the human and preternatural worlds. This romantic erotic
book includes vampires and were-cats in a story of love and
loyalty. One year has passed and the story continues. The Council is
in shambles and some elders have defected to the rogue
vampire Mikhail. In Colorado, five girlfriends get together
for Erihn's birthday party. Their wish for Erihn, a romance
novelist, is to find someone who will love her and make her
forget the horrible experience of being held as a hostage
and tortured many years before. Shai, Val, and Jennifer's
friend, Fayne comes to the party and is instantly attracted
to Erihn. Little does Erihn know that her recent book about
were-cats could have been written about Fayne. Val's
library was where Erihn found a strange diary about these
unusual creatures. Jennifer offers Erihn a hideaway to do research for her
next book but neglects to tell her Fayne is also staying
there. The story of their mutual attraction is delightfully
written between hot tub, mud slides, motorcycle rides, and
iced tea. These two are extremely hot together. Both
characters realize they can help each other to forget the
past. The Council defectors come after Erihn to get the
mysterious diary. The story line now involves murder,
daring rescue attempts, and fights to the finish. Love does
conquer all and the story ends with Erihn getting the upper
hand. I recommend this book for its erotic story with plenty of
humor and look forward to the next installation in the
series, Redemption.
