"Will love between a homicide detective and a psychic ever work?"
For Sensual Romance by A. Black
Susan Wright has the gift of sight, or True Seeing, as her
grandmother told her.
The ability is inherited, but not in every generation. It
skipped her mother who
rejected Susan out of fear of her gift. With the exception
of a few close
friends, Susan has avoided intimate relationships. But she
wants officer Jake
Matherly and she knows he's wanted her for the past year.
Their initial
contact goes fine until Susan is pulled into a terrifying
vision of a brutal
murder.
Jake can't believe his luck when Susan Wright shows up at
his apartment
offering herself to him with not strings attached. He's
suspicious that she
has an ulterior motive, but throws caution to the wind.
After all, what's
wrong with having a good tumble with a hot woman who doesn't
want a
commitment? But soon Jake finds himself in charge of a
murder investigation, and
Susan is the only person with vital information -- which she
won't share.
This is another good book by Leigh Wyndfield who has a
talent for consistently
developing an interesting story with real characters, and
sparkling dialogue.
It's a challenge to write a short story that feels like a
longer work, but Ms.
Wyndfield makes it work. This book goes on my keeper shelf
along with her other
books.
