REVIEW

"Futuristic Erotic Paranormal with telepathy and aliens!"

Lionheart is the story of two almost-starcrossed lovers, Mara and Sander. Mara is the head of a small cadre of telepaths on Earth, and Sander is the telepathic captain of an alien ship on an exploratory mission. They meet -- and love -- all in their minds. Then the unthinkable happens. Sander's ship crashes to the Earth, leaving him, the only survivor, stranded on an alien shore. Mara rushes to his aid, and as they work to get him back to his home planet, they realize that their love might just work after all.

I didn't know what to expect from this story. Sander, the alien, is a cat-like being. Depending on the story, that can go well, or it can be weird. This story was definitely one of the good ones! We get some discussion about his extra hairness, and a lot of talk about his tail and ... tongue, but nothing more than that. The beast-like comparisons are handled by a less-than-pleased member of Mara's group, and left at that. Sander acts fairly human.

Though Mara and Sander's romance is tempered by life-and- death jeopardy, Ms. Douglas still manages to isolate them and "grow" their personal feelings for each other. Betrayal surrounds them, and the army is massing outside their gates, and Mara and her telepaths must find a way to repel the attacks. They do, of course.

Sexwise, this book is pretty full. This isn't a one-love- scene whimper. They explore each other fully, both mentally and emotionally. There is tenderness and love between Mara and Sander. The characters in this story really seem to stand out and take a life of their own, and the ending is definitely well-deserved by both. Overall, a good read and a sexy hero... even if he is a bit unconventional!

Rated by Ellora's Cave "Hard R; borderline NC-17".

Summary

Mara Armand, director of a foundation for the protection and study of humans with extrasensory abilities, has made telepathic contact with an alien starship captain orbiting the earth.

After weeks of nightly telepathic visits with Captain Sander, Mara develops an intimate mental relationship with her unseen alien lover. She experiences his need, his passion, and his sensual touch, but it is a bittersweet relationship for the laws of the Explorers forbid them to ever meet.

An accident in space changes everything and Mara and Sander are given the chance they never thought they'd have. Threatened by World Federation troops from without and jealous hatred from within, their survival now depends on the strength of their bond and a ragtag army of young Sensitives willing to risk their lives for an alien starship captain.
