"A quick, sexy love story about reincarnation and the vampire myth."
This 86-page novella sensually explores reincarnation and
the vampire myth. It has moderately graphic monogamous sex
(rated R by the publisher). Alexi has spent centuries seeking his lover, only to lose
her time and again. Now, he has found her once more in
Elaine. Will he love her only to lose her yet again to
cruel fate? Can he convince her that love is eternal, and
vampires exist? When Elaine sees Alexi watching her from the balcony at a
party, she recognizes him as her lover from the dreams she
has had since her teens. He is determined to woo her,
seduce her, and claim her for all time. Will she let him
before her time runs out? Ms. Adair manages to pull off a difficult feat, and make
her character real and alive in the span of a few pages.
She tells a touching, sexy, and rather sweet story of love
lost and found. While there are no great surprises in the
story, it is a very entertaining read. A few discordant notes were struck early on with a jarring
clinical term that didn't fit the mood of the piece. It is
written in the soft, flowy language of older romance
novels, and I found the term out of place among the more
flowery euphemisms. That and an out-of-character
exclamation from a hero who's early dialog tended toward
the cliche' were the only problems I had getting into this
story. It moved quickly from encounter to encounter, erotic and
otherwise, without getting too bogged down in mechanics or
the telling of the back story. Topped with a satisfying
finish, like a Hershey's Kiss, I recommend this for those
looking for a quick, sexy love story without too much
suffering or angst. E-book. Available from www.ellorascave.com in the following
