Conner Devlin, another member of the well-known, much-loved Devlin Dynasty, has traveled with his brother, Noah to a small village in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania, to see what assistance the Devlins might be able to provide in setting up and managing a wildlife preserve for the protection of Carpathian wolves. Katya, the business manager for the Braslieu holdings, who is intent on making this wolf preserve happen, is undoubtedly the most beautiful woman that Conner has ever seen. When Katya is attacked and beaten by a member of her own pack, Conner comes to her rescue. In an attempt to relax after the attack, Katya consumes too much brandy, rendering her helpless in resisting the romantic advances of the irresistable Conner.

Their resulting mating has life-changing consequences for both of them and Conner is extremely upset, positive that he has been set up by Katya. Conner is the typical alpha male, intense and tender in lovemaking but distrustful and sometimes unreasonable at other times. Katya is the perfect mate for Conner, equally strong-willed and passionate in her beliefs.

Ms. Burton keeps her readers wondering if Conner will ever believe Katya, and whether they will survive an unknown evil fiercely determined to tear them apart. Ms. Burton is an undoubted master at penning sensual romance, evidenced by this stunning example. These characters are intense, strong, and full of class, extremely likable; even when Conner is being disagreeable, his reasoning was understandable.

I give this book a very high recommendation and I eagerly anticipate the stories of Noah and Chantal Devlin. Jaci Burton never disappoints.

Summary
