REVIEW

"Futuristic with strong females and sexy alpha males"

Lycan is King of Raynar, a world where men are warriors and women are trained to please them. Women are also not allowed outside the city of Raynar, nor do they have a concept of what freedom means.

Starr is the Queen of Dognelle, a world where the women are warriors and the men tend to household affairs, including child-rearing.

When Queen Starr is captured by King Lycan in battle and held as his prisoner, the battle of wills and two drastically different belief systems begins. Although Lycan and Starr eventually find pleasure in each other's company, neither is willing to concede to the other their belief system.

Fortunately, they have one thing is common -- an enemy, King Golan of Centuri, who wants to posess all. Lycan and Starr must temporarily set aside their differences or risk losing thier lives, land, and people. Although they work together to defeat their enemy, can two vastly different belief systems allow love to grow to maturity?

Jaci Burton has created two interesting worlds, not too different from current Earth cultures. I enjoyed the book, and the characters and story were interesting. Readers will be compelled to read it in one sitting in order to see how Lycan and Starr resolve their cultural issues. Anyone looking for a sexy read with strong female characters and sexy alpha-males will enjoy this book.

Sensuality: E-rotic. Sensuality: Violence, oral sex.

Summary

Rendered unconscious in battle, Starr, Queen of Dognelle is captured by Lycan, the King of Raynar. Lycan intends to treat her as he would any other woman in his kingdom. She will be well fed, clothed, and treated with respect, but she must give up her freedom. Starr refuses, with every fiber of her being longing for escape. Especially when Lycan's tender kisses and heated caresses make her doubt her resolve to live as a free woman.

But Lycan has other plans for the beautiful but stubborn warrior. He sets out to show her that life in Raynar can be quite pleasant indeed.

A war has begun, both on and off the battlefield.
