REVIEW

"Excellent historical sequel!"

Princess of Scotland and heir to her grandfather's throne, Catherine is on her way to Edinburgh for her own safety. The last thing she expects is any trouble on this trip.

Alexander of Kent, son of Queen Isabeau of Castile and Prince Consort Kendrick and grandson of Edward "Longshanks" of England is planning on taking Catherine as his bride on his grandfather's orders. Longshanks wants Alexander to breed an heir with Catherine so he can control the throne of Scotland as well as England. Since the death of his fiancée at the hands of the Scots, Alexander has hated everything Scottish. He plans on getting his heir and then putting Catherine in a convent once she's served her purpose. Of course, once he meets the fair-haired beauty, he knows his duties will not be onerous. Not only is Catherine beautiful, she is spirited as well and an excellent match for him.

When Catherine discovers she was betrayed by her brother for an estate and money, she is not happy and marries Alexander to save the life of her servant and friend.

Even though these two are an excellent match, will Alexander ever be able to put aside his hatred of Scots? What of the throne of Scotland? Will Catherine be able to give it up? Will Alexander always act as his grandfather's pawn?

THE WARLORD'S WOMAN is an excellent sequel to DESIRE'S PROMISE. I really love the way Tracy L. Ranson brought the characters of Isabeau and Kendrick into this story. The cruelties Alexander was forced to endure in his grandfather's court are what made him the man he became, someone without a heart. When Catherine gets the opportunity to run away from Alexander when he becomes sick, she doesn't take it, instead electing to stay and nurse him back to health. You don't want to miss this heartwarming medieval story by Tracy L. Ranson!
