"A different twist to the lives of vampires"

Once again, we're back with Roarke, the three-hundred-year- old vampire, and Riordan, the half-vampire half-human. The two of them have been living together for the last few months. Roarke is really tired of Riordan's apartment and would love to get a house, but he's afraid of how Riordan will accept his offer of purchasing it. Riordan is really funny about money and his lack thereof, whereas Roarke has more than enough for the both of them. Eventually, Roarke manages to talk Riordan into contacting a real estate agent and looking at apartments.

When they meet with the agent, she informs them she has a trainee meeting them at the apartment she wishes to show them. When they get there and Riordan sees the "trainee", he's in shock. The "trainee" ends up being none other than the woman Riordan was living with when he was bit. He hasn't seen her since. The two of them begin talking and Melinda gives Riordan her number.

Will Riordan and Melinda get back together? What of Roarke? Where does he fit into all of this? What of the vampires after Riordan and Roarke?

DARK CALLINGS II: INAMORATA is a highly intriguing look into the social relationships between vampires and humans. Elizabeth Jewell has done a wonderful job of giving us a further look into the mind of Riordan in the manner in which he deals with his former and his current lover. Even though vampires still get killed in this second book of the series, the main focus is more on the relationship aspect. I highly enjoyed this story and think you will too!

Sensuality note: Contains homosexual sex

Summary

The vampire and the vampire hunter. Improbable companions... Insatiable lovers. Riordan, a vampire hunter, and Roarke, his vampire lover, have been together for nearly six months. They might even be a couple, though Riordan's having a hard time admitting that, even when they decide to ditch Riordan's crappy apartment for a new one -- together. Their tentative relationship hits a snag when a figure from Riordan's past unexpectedly reappears -- a beautiful, voluptuous figure, and she's still in love with Riordan. Now Riordan has to make a choice, and he has to make it fast -- before somebody dies.
