"A serious subject treated in such a way as to have you laughing out loud!"
Once again, we're back with the group of divorced women
known as "The Ex-Files". Our group consisting of: Maddie,
now very happy with Cole; Maxine, four months after her
beating from her ex-husband, Juan; Katy, still in love
with her ex-husband; and Victoria, still as cranky as
ever. This story deals with Maxine Rodriguez. After the last beating by her ex-husband, Maxie has finally
decided to get in control of her life. She's working out
and even teaching self-defense classes for women. The only
problem she's been having lately is her phantom lover. The
man appears in her bedroom every night and makes love to
her. According to her therapist, this man is nothing more
than brain trauma. But Maxie isn't too sure of that. No
dream leaves a wet spot in her bed. One night, Maxie decides to discover exactly who is her
mystery lover. Right in the middle of the action, Maxie
opens her eyes and flips on the bedside light. The man is
gorgeous! Of course, he talks kinda funny. Kellen gives
Maxie a story about being from the Middle Ages and being
cursed. After flitting from woman to woman, one finally
had enough and cursed him to avenge women. Well, Maxie
isn't too sure about his story. To her, he's even crazier
than she is. What will happen between Maxie and Kellen? Will they fall
in love? Will Maxie give up the best sex she's ever had?
Was Kellen truly cursed, or is he ready for the nut house? THE EX-FILES: MAXIE'S MAN is a hilarious look at a very
serious subject. Dakota Cassidy has done a wonderful job of
portraying the recovery of an abused wife in a
delightfully humorous way. As the victim of physical
abuse, Maxie must learn to deal with this and regain her
self-respect and Kellen is the perfect man to help her do
so. We also have a bit of the paranormal thrown into the
mix as well with the curse and time travel. I really love
Dakota Cassidy's writing style and this story doesn't
appoint. I can't wait to read Katy's story next!
