"The Senator is a werewolf?!?"

Newspaper reporter Kelsey Harper was determined to find out whether Senator Jason Devlin had any newsworthy secrets. She sneaks out of a political function and waits outside his hotel suite to try to catch a moment with him. Jason Devlin had a huge secret indeed, one that would jeopardize his political career if the public were to find out. Jason sees Kelsey waiting and assumes that she's the lupine date that his best friend had arranged for him. Jason grabs Kelsey and takes her into his room where he begins a seduction that Kelsey is unable to resist. Jason realizes that Kelsey is not lupine but could not bring himself to stop the intense lovemaking. He feels an immediately connection with Kelsey, even though she cannot, as a human, be his pack mate. Jason invites Kelsey to spend the upcoming weekend with him so they can get to know each other. After their weekend together they both knew that their lives would never be the same without the other.

Jason is sure that the reporter in Kelsey will be unable to resist the huge story that his true werewolf identity would bring. He finds himself waiting for a barrage of reporters to appear on his doorstep if she discovers his secret and tells the world his story.

This book is typical Jaci Burton in that it is a well- written, intriguing story with likeable, sexy characters. Ms. Burton's descriptions of characters and surroundings draw you into the story and allow you to see very clear pictures in your mind. There are other books in this series that are equally enjoyable. Reading the series in order is not necessary, but characters from previous books do make appearances in subsequent books and may be a little better understood if the books are read in order.

This is a high recommendation for those who love sexy, imaginative stories. Ms. Burton has once again written a most excellent book in RUNNING MATE.

Summary
