"Rollercoaster ride of nonstop suspense, plus a heartwarming love story."
This book picks up where the first left off — they're
really one story in two volumes. Kyla has been kidnapped by
Harris, and Joe forces the traitor in their midst to spill
the beans — but the plant isn't working for Harris but for
another side entirely. There is a wildly intense and
complex battle scene in the tunnels of Galway College,
where Harris is forced to confront his own evil, and some
of the bad guys regret their actions and change sides,
giving victory to our guys. But if you think Kyla's
troubles are over just because Harris fails, you're wrong.
There are other forces out to get her, and she has to deal
with the burden of unwanted fame and try to plan a wedding
at the same time. If you loved the first book, you will HAVE to read this to
see how it ends. Lyons has created strong, believable
characters you can care about — imperfect people whose
flaws end up being their strengths. Even her villains are
memorable and some of them don't stay villains, which works
as more than just a mere plot device — they are well-drawn
enough that there IS room for growth and repentance. She
takes on organized religion, televangelists, religious
hypocrisy and the nature of life and still manages to pull
off a story of unbearable suspense. This book reminds me
strongly of Barbara Woods THE PROPHETESS, another story
that keeps you on the edge of your seat while still
managing to wrestle with the nature of reality and
religion. I unabashedly love these two novels. I read them
voraciously (my husband kept begging me to turn off the
ebook reader and go to sleep PLEASE) and could hardly
wait 'til I woke up so I could continue reading. Two
terrific books by a rising star with an original point of
view. Sensuality rating: steamy, explicit monogamous heterosexual
sex.

Her powers rediscovered and her loyal supporters in hand,
Kyla
should be ready for anything Jessup throws at her. With
plans within
plans and traitors at every turn, Kyla still has no clue
what she is
destined to do. The heat of battle will either make her the
embodiment of
the prophecy or destroy them all.
Joe would willingly give his life to save Kyla's. What will
he do when
she walks into enemy hands to do the same for him?
SummaryJoe Connor doesn't believe in religion. When Gram
hires him as a bodyguard for Kyla, he is in it for the
money. Kyla is a remarkable lady in her own right,
but can he believe that she's a young prophet on a
mission? Joe has the woman he's always wanted,
if he can carry out his destiny and keep her alive long
enough for her to fulfill the prophecy that neither of
them believes.
Kyla Keating doesn't believe in fate or in
prophecies, but she does believe in getting home
alive. That means she must reconnect to her
quirky ghost guide, unravel the mystery of her true
mission and her long-buried past that only Gram
knows, and relearn how to use the gifts she has
denied for all these years...if they don't get her
killed first.
