Callan Lyons and his pride had been a genetic experiment before their escape. The Council had not taken lightly to their disappearance. No money had been spared in their quest to find the pride. Callan had escaped with his surrogate mother Maria. Before she was killed she tried to convince him to go public and expose the Council for what they were. She also forwarded a box of evidence to her friend John Tyler.

Merinus Tyler is the daughter of John Tyler. Brought up with strong, overbearing brothers, she wanted the assignment of contacting Callan to prove herself. There was also the fact that she had half fallen in love with his picture. So now, here she was within sight of her goal but is having a little trouble getting to him to talk to her. Standing over the embankment Merinus can spy on their compound -- and Callan was even better than the picture.

Callan could smell her. Her smell drew him to her. He tried fighting the desire but it was getting stronger. It was almost like she was in heat and it was only him who could satisfy this craving. Merinus soon found herself totally addicted to Callan. Being away from him for any length of time caused her pain.

Can they survive the danger that is coming their way? Will Callan be able to keep Merinus safe once the Council finds out that they have mated? Can Merinus love a man who's half human and half cat?

TEMPTING THE BEAST is a very unique story. The characters are both sensual and believable. I was totally wrapped up in this start of a series. I can hardly wait for new additions. There are a lot of the Wolf Breed stories in this one. If you loved any of the Breed stories this is one you won't want to miss. Great work Ms. Leigh, another great addition to my library.

Summary
