"Erotic retelling of Aesop's fable"
Lord Magnus Ravynne needs a wife to manage his home--
Ravynne's Keep--and bear him an heir. The women he has
chosen to fulfill that roll is Mistress Anne Swann, who has
been raised in an abbey. In his eyes she is perfect; she
has knee-length hair, fair skin, and ripe apple-sized
breasts. One night while Magnus is traveling home, he encounters a
lovely woman at a lake singing, bathing, and pleasuring
herself by moonlight. He has been without a woman for three
months and is quite eager to end his celibacy, so he joins
her. Lady Constance Atherton has been a widow for three years.
Her husband had not taught her much about the physical
desires of the flesh but since his death she has learned
how to pleasure herself. Just as she is about to achieve
her physical release a stranger shows up and offers
to "assist" her. They make passionate love and for the
first time in her life she is truly satisfied, but he
leaves without identifying himself and Constance accepts it
as a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be treasured. When Magnus arrives home he discovers his steward, Edward,
has a visitor staying with him--his niece. The woman seems
familiar but he can't remember where he knows her from--
until he realizes that she is the woman he encountered at
the lake. Now what? Lady Atherton is the opposite of
Mistress Swann; she holds no lands, her hair is long and
black, her breasts are full, and she revels in her
sexuality. He wants her again but his betrothed is due to
visit soon. Who will be the lucky woman to win his heart? This story is a smart retelling of Aesop's fable "The
Raven and the Swan". And like all of Sahara Kelly's work, I
enjoyed it and you will too. Rated: E-rotic Reviewed by Angela Black for Sensual Romance.
