"An interesting historical, but a bit disappointing"
Avalon's father has told her she must marry a man she's
never met. For most of her life she's been free to do as
she wishes and she's not your usual pampered rich girl.
She loves to ride and hunt. One day while out riding she
falls from her horse and hits her head. When she awakens
she finds her horse gone and she's forced to walk back
home. On her way home an unkempt stranger accosts her.
She's finally able to escape and makes her way home to get
ready for her wedding to the man her father has picked for
her. At the wedding Avalon's in for a surprise. The man who
accosted her earlier turns out to be her finacee. Not
wanting her father to find out about her adventure, Avalon
keeps her mouth shut and marries the stranger. Her new
husband turns out to be as demanding as his first
impression showed. Will she be able to find a middle
ground with her new husband? Will they be able to create a
good life together? This story started out well but after a while the heroine's
character changed and became somewhat weak. Where before
she was independent and fearless, she started just giving
in to the hero's wishes without any thoughts of her own.
I'm afraid that this started to ruin the story for me. I
know this is supposed to be a historical but I just found
the heroine's aboutface distracting.

SummaryTomorrow was Lord Brand's wedding to a bride chosen by his
father and hers, and approved by the king. A tempting
beauty in the woods made his last night of freedom
enjoyable. Savoring her maidenhead and her luscious body,
he planned to return home with a bride and a mistress.
Soon, he'd learn they were one and the same...
