REVIEW

"On the run, she finds the werewolf of her dreams"

Elsa Rousseau is a werewolf on the run. Rather than agree to the three mates her grandmother chose for her, she ran away. Elsa finds the idea of multiple mates repulsive. She wants to be more than just a breeder for the continuation of her species. Elsa and her pack are pureblood, Lunewulf, and they are slowly dying out. When Elsa encounters a huge alpha male werewolf in the forest she's taken refuge in, she knows that it's time to move on. There is a large reward for her offered by her pack and Elsa is determined to keep her cherished freedom. No matter that her body cries out for her to submit to this magnificent male.

Pack leader Rick Bolton finds the white werewolf to be the most beautiful bitch he's ever seen. He senses that she's in trouble, on the run. While she's in his territory, she will be under his protection. When he encounters the mystery wolf-woman the next day as she has car trouble, Rick knows that she's more than the average werewolf. He takes her in, despite her protests to the contrary. Can he convince her to trust him? To stay with him? Will she be willing to fight for the role of his queen bitch?

Pack politics is a slippery slope, but Elsa falls into the role of queen bitch with ease. But to officially claim the title, she must defeat the current queen bitch. No, Rick doesn't have a mate -- she died in the fire that took several lives a while back. His mate's drunken sister gained the title by default. Power-hungry and quite manipulative, Ramona Rothmeier has plans for Rick that don't include the little white wolf who has turned Rick's head. Will Ramona find out Elsa's secret and betray her? Will Elsa's pack catch her before she can get away?

I enjoyed LUNEWULF 2: IN HER BLOOD much more than the preceding quickie in the series. The longer story gave room for more development and filled in some background on the workings of the werewolf packs. There are at least three more stories to come in this series. Ms. O'Clare's fertile imagination will win the hearts of werewolf fans. If shapeshifters are your thing, give her Lunewulf series a chance.

Sensuality: Rated E-rotic by the publisher. Explicit sex, attempted rape (not by hero), spanking, anal sex; sexually explicit scenes: 8

Note: Squeamish readers need to know that there are some scenes of violence and killing. Although these scenes are a tiny part of the story, I do want to warn those who cannot handle attempted rape and blood and gore.

Summary

Elsa Rousseau will have nothing to do with Pack Law. She will choose her own mate. No one will tell her what to do, or who to do it with.

But unfortunately, that means running from her pack, continually hiding and never settling down for too long. That is, until she meets Rick Bolton. Quite possibly he is more stubborn and willful than she is.

Sparks fly the moment they lay eyes on each other. Elsa knows she has not only met her match, but the mate she will have no matter who tries to stop her.
