REVIEW

"Two Romances in One"

Sir Guy Northbridge and Sir Gilles deSoliel are The Knights Elemental, two knights who, though as different as night and day, have chosen to become a team. Everything they do, they do together, from fighting on the battlefield to seeking pleasure in a woman's arms. It's no surprise that when they follow their liege lord to a troubled fief they decide to go undercover to investigate together.

They find two lovely women, widows both. Linnet Aylmer and Mechele Treynowyth have spent much time and effort turning Malty Abbey into the successful estate it has become. Baron Lymington, to whom they owe yearly tribute, has been both nagging and abusive. Sir Dunstan Trenowyth, the man who owns the Abbey, is elderly and has left nearly all the work to the girls and the able workers of the property.

It quickly becomes clear that something underhanded is afoot. Sir Guy and Sir Gilles must do their knightly duty and find the truth, yet they are already falling prey to the charms of the women whose good hearts and fine bodies have captured their attention and their affection. Their future is uncertain, but love hovers on the horizon. Sometimes being the Knights Elemental is a Very Good Thing.

THE KNIGHTS ELEMENTAL is a decidedly different sensual historical romance novel, with both positives and negatives inherent in its unique format. Because of the dual-romance there is a bright convivial, party-like feeling to the story — the friendships of the heroes and heroines are very prominent. On the negative side, doubling the romance, at least in this novel, halves the emotional intensity, except in the odd (sexually related) moments when the couples are by themselves. However — Ms. Kelly pulls it off beautifully, mostly because of her excellent characterization. Each character is distinct and all are enjoyable. The plot that underlies the romance is also interesting, though not so much so that it takes over story. The relationships are both romantic and sexually explicit. There are no threesomes or foursomes in the novel. Each couple is a couple onto themselves. THE KNIGHTS ELEMENTAL is a fun fast read — a treat for the historical romance lover.

Sensuality Level: This novel has been rated "E-rotic" by the publisher.

Summary

Two brave knights...two damsels in distress. Sir Guy Northbridge is as cool as the North wind and Sir Gilles duSoleil is as sunny as his name. No wonder they're known as "The Knights Elemental". A formidable fighting force in times of war, peace finds them in a different battle—to save the lives of two very different women, and perhaps claim their hearts as a prize.

The north wind must blow chills of passion into his lady, and the sun must warm the body of a cool woman. Medieval mischief leads them all into danger, but together, these Knights Elemental are equal to the challenge. Nothing can stand in their way of their triumphs—or their desires...
