REVIEW

"After a wedding she can't remember, Miranda finds herself married to her boss!"

Corporate executive Miranda Symons wakes up after an alcohol-fogged night to find herself married. And not to just any man. No, she married her sister's ex-husband -- and Miranda's boss. Uh-oh! All this mess is Jack "The Jerk" Langfeld's fault. If he hadn't called off their engagement, Miranda wouldn't have fallen prey to Drake's machinations. Why would Drake want to marry her of all people? Her sister Lucy is the pretty one, always has been. What does Miranda offer that Lucy doesn't?

Millennium Tech founder Drake McLain has a plan to discover who's behind a potential hostile takeover of his company. He needs Miranda's stock shares and intelligence to assist him in this effort. To convince her to work with him, Drake plans a fake marriage to use as an enticement. He knows that Miranda's loyalties will be split, but that she wouldn't betray her husband, right? Drake holds the threat of a potential pregnancy over Miranda's head to ensure she doesn't seek out an annulment or divorce before he's ready.

As Drake and Miranda try to puzzle out the traitor inside the company, they find it increasingly harder to fight the attraction that boils between them. Will Drake tell Miranda the truth of their "marriage"? Will Miranda insist on walking away after their agreed upon month is over? What if Miranda really is pregnant? How will that change things?

Although billed as a romantic comedy, I didn't find much amusing about THE COMMITMENT. It reads more like a standard contemporary romance than as a comedic one. But humor is subjective, others may find the story to be hilarious. Ms. Huxman has penned a story to help while away a few enjoyable hours. Give this one a read if you like contemporary romance -- just don't expect gales of laughter.

Sensuality: Rated Sensual by the publisher. Explicit sex; sexually explicit scenes: 2

Summary

Jilted for the third time at the altar, morose and disgusted, Miranda drinks too much and the next morning, finds herself in bed with a naked man. To her horror, she discovers she's wed to her boss/ex brother-in-law, sexy bad boy Drake. He wants her, and there's not much a girl can do to resist a gorgeous man in his birthday suit.

But Drake has much more on his mind than Miranda in a sexy negligee....
