REVIEW

"A must read! One of the best romantica books I've read this year!"

After being very ill for many years, 25-year-old Claire Parks is now healthy and ready to begin her life. She's moved out of her elderly, overprotective father's house and started a new job that she enjoys. Claire thought going out with a new coworker would be a good idea. But her girl friend has disappeared with some guy and Claire has no intention of dancing with any of the creeps who have been coming up to her. When a big, gorgeous and sexy guy comes to her rescue, she can't believe her luck. Now to figure out how to seduce him! After a weekend of mind- blowing sex, Claire finds out that there's more to Bud than she thought there was.

Police Lieutenant Tyler "Bud" Morrison is working undercover in one of Portland, Oregon's, wildest dance clubs, trying to meet up with a snitch when Claire catches his eye. She's beautiful, innocent-looking and clearly out of place among the wild crowd that usually frequents the club. When one particular guy gets a little too forceful asking Claire to dance, Bud doesn't waste any time going over to rescue her. Bud ends up taking Claire home and he finds that he never wants to let her go. When Claire needs his protection, he'll do anything to keep her safe, even from himself.

MIDNIGHT RUN is a fabulous, fast paced read! I love reading all types of erotic romance books, but there's just something about a hot, intense love story between one man and one woman who can't get enough of each other that will hook me every time. This book was like that for me. I was engrossed in the book from page one and I couldn't wait to read more. Bud is a strong, earthy, caring and tender alpha male. He's my favorite kind of hero. Bud is welcome to recite poetry to me anytime! Claire is a woman who has gone through a lot in her life and survived. Now she's ready to celebrate life, not wallow in her past. Every scene flowed perfectly into the next and the many love scenes were extremely sensual and hot. I loved that the author showed both the hero and heroine's point of view. The scene with Claire's father was so touching. If you're looking for a book that will send sensual tingles running down your spine and other places, this is the book to read! MIDNIGHT RUN is a must read and definitely a keeper. If Lisa Marie Rice isn't on your auto buy list, she should be.

Though some of the storyline in MIDNIGHT RUN overlaps with the previous book in this series, it works well as a stand- alone book. But I highly recommend that you pick up the previous book in the "Midnight" series, MIDNIGHT MAN, if you want to see the characters when the author first introduced them.

This book is rated S-ensuous by the publisher.

Summary

Claire Parks has been very sick, but she's fine now—just fine—and ready to paint the town red. Well, pink. But after a weekend of wild sex, she discovers he's not what she thinks he is.

Undercover police officer Lieutenant Tyler "Bud" Morrison can't believe his eyes. What's a 'princess' doing in a dance club known for its rough trade? She needs rescuing, and rescuing women is what Bud does best. He saw Claire first—finders keepers. After a weekend of the hottest sex he's ever had, he's definitely keeping this one. When trouble comes her way, he pulls out all the stops to protect her. Except Claire doesn't want Bud at her back. She wants him in her bed.
