REVIEW

"Who knew the perfect threesome is a blue fey"

Aric is the youngest Master of Arms to serve Edouline. He lived to serve with loyalty to both his country and his king. As a foundling, he was trained as a weapons master. Because of his unknown caste he also wasn't able to have the one woman he desired -- Princesse Amery. On several occasions she had helped him and had not seemed to mind his caste.

Aric and King Alhdeade go to battle. Aric saves a sick fey and is granted one wish. He used his wish for his king and their men to win the war. When an injury Aric got from the battle festers, the king decides to leave him along the side of the road to die. It is only then he realizes that the King he served was only loyal to himself. Aric dragged himself to a nearby hut. The owner is a witch and she helps him recover from his wounds but she makes him work hard to pay her back. When she wants him to go down a well to get a blue light he decides this is the last thing he will do before he escapes. Getting his hands on the blue light will change Aric's life forever.

Princesse Amery has wanted Aric for years. She knows that they can't marry but it didn't stop her sensual thoughts. When she finds out that Aric has been killed in battle she is devastated. But she doesn't have time to mourn as her stepfather the king has decided to claim her as his new bride. Now she is a prisoner in her own castle.

ONCE UPON A MIDNIGHT BLUE is an exciting short story that is filled with intrigue and passion. I loved the demi-elf Blue and the way he fits into the story. Aric and Amery are very likeable characters that are perfectly matched. Then you throw in Blue and you have the perfect threesome. Ms Walker has always had a way with her characters and this novella is no exception. She has certainly made me a big fan of her work.
