"Contemporary BDSM story about learning to be a submissive."

Sarah Simpson-Parker is a 30-year-old widow. She is a strong and successful business professional who's always in control. Although her 7-year marriage was satisfactory, the sex was not. Now Sarah is seeking something a bit more risque and she finds it in Phillip Townsend, a dom who introduces her to the world of BDSM.

Phillip is looking for a new submissive for his sex games and someone who is also willing to commit to a relationship. He's attracted to Sarah and he knows the feeling is mutual but he's not sure she'd be willing to submit to him as a slave. After a few dates he asks Sarah to spend the weekend at his cottage as his submissive. The BDSM lifestyle is very new to Sarah but she trusts Phillip and agrees to spend the weekend with him. She is initiated into Phillip's world where she is slowly seduced into pain, pleasure, and a new way of experiencing her sexuality.

Ms. Hunter is a good writer. Her characters were well developed and her plot was good. Phillip was patient with Sarah and it was clear that he did not intend to be an abusive lover. However, I felt that this story went beyond the boundaries of erotica into the land of porn. While I admit that I'm not a BDSM fan, I have reviewed and enjoyed several BDSM books in which the sexual relationships were not disrespectful or degrading to women--this was not one of them. The scenes in which he puts Sarah in a cage and treats her like an animal were a bit too much for me. Fans of hard-core BDSM will probably enjoy this book. For everyone else--you may cringe.

Summary
