"Wonderful story!"
I have been a big fan of Jennifer Drew's Harlequin Duets so
I was really looking forward to reading their Temptation
and I am happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed it! Olivia Kearns is not having a good day. Her company
wants her to get 'with it', her parents are divorcing and
she's just found out that the man who got away, her college
sweetheart, Nick Matheson is back in town. What more could
go wrong? Then Olivia's sister calls to tell her that she's
getting married and doesn't have time to call everyone they
invited to their parent's 50th wedding anniversary party to
tell them it's called off. Then she informs Olivia that
she also invited Nick to the party as well. The last thing
Olivia wants to do is see Nick again. After all he broke
her heart. Still, maybe Olivia can make this work to her
advantage. When she talks to Nick she asks him if he can
help her update her looks for her job. He tells her that
he needs to get in touch with one of her clients for an
interview for his job so he'll help her if she helps him.
She agrees but only to call the woman to see if she'll
agree to the interview. What Olivia and Nick don't realize is that neither
one of them has ever really gotten over the other. Nick
thinks he isn't ready for commitment but what is it about
Olivia that makes him want to be with her all the time?
Will he realize his feelings before it's too late? Olivia
does her very best not to get close to Nick because
she just cannot go through the hurt again but is she strong
enough to resist him? The sexual tension between these two characters
burned up the pages in this book. I was pulling for them
to both come to their senses from page one. Jennifer Drew
always gives me a highly satisfying read!
