"Victorian-set short erotic romance"
Poppy Adams is an accomplished artist but her favorite
subjects are nudes--which are difficult to find in
Victorian London. When she meets Louisa Jones she is
introduced to a new outlet for her art as well as a man who
loves her. Damian Barbour is about to leave London when he sees a
beautiful woman whose breasts catch his attention. Assuming
she is a maid and that he can have his way with her, he
attempts to sample her charms. Unfortunately, the woman is
not a maid, she's Poppy Adams and she knows how to protect
herself from womanizers like Damian. As Damian is recovering from Poppy's strategic knee
placement, Louisa Jones appears and formally introduces
them. Much to Damian's surprise and discomfort he
apologizes to Poppy but later finds he can't keep his mind
off her. Louisa knows that Poppy and Damian are right for each other
and she takes Poppy under her wing and introduces her to
the pleasures of the flesh. First she shows her treasure
chest of toys and then she requests that Damian pose for
Poppy--in the nude. This is the fourth book in a series of Victorian short
stories. I've read the previous three stories and found
them quite good. You don't have to read all of them in
order, although it helps if you want a better understanding
of the character of Louisa, who appears in each book.
Historical fans as well those readers who like a good story
will enjoy this book. Sensuality: oral sex, toy play. Rated: E-rotic by publisher. Reviewed by Angela Black for Sensual Romance.
