The Birthday Gift
Jake wanted to give his wife Amanda the fantasy she's always wanted for her birthday, a threesome. There is no one Jake trusts more than Patrick. Though they were actually cousins they grew up more like brothers and the similarities in appearance and mannerism made them look like brothers. When Patrick visits Jake and Amanda's horse farm, Jake asks him if he will help him do this for her.

Amanda is just worried about bringing in a real estate commission to pay the bills. She's married to a fantastic husband, a man who leaves roses on her pillow and gives her back massages when she's tired. The bedroom isn't the only place on this big ranch where they have made love. It's a good thing Amanda isn't allergic to hay. What she comes home to is two of the most gorgeous men wanting to fulfill her every sexual wish.

I don't know if I can fully understand Jake's willingness in having any other man touching his wife. Sure it's a one time thing but maybe this could haunt them in the future. Patrick extends an invitation to them to come and visit at his ski resort and for Jake and Amanda to fill Patrick's fantasy. Is this a possible turn-about? Could this one time deal cause trouble?

It's In the Cards
Catherine 'Cat' Ryan was finding a birthday card for her sister Anita. It took a long time to find the perfect one. Cat spots a flash of purple out of the corner of her eye -- a card with a picture of the most awesome-looking hunk west of the Mississippi. Cat has been dreaming about him night and day for years. How can her dream man be on a card?

Once home Cat can't keep her hands and eyes off the card. She must have had a dream about him that night but for the life of her she can't understand why she's sore in spots. Upon turning over she sees him he's larger than life and completely naked. What's a girl to do when he tells her she's his mate and they are destined to be together?

I would have loved to see this as a longer story. here was a part where Cat was showing Kane what the internet was and how to use it, but it was never expounded upon. There was no research into what caused the curse or how to break it. This story could have easily been a hundred pages longer.

One Thing To Give
Lindsay Cunningham thinks she's reached old age turning thirty. Her girlfriends take her out to dinner to celebrate and afterwards she goes back to the Sweetwater Saloon instead of being depressed at home. Here the scenery is much better -- especially looking at the bartender, Sam McKeifer. He has hair thick enough to grab on to and he looks good coming or going with that derrière. What has Lindsay got to lose? Why not go for one night with this delectable hunk.

Sam has kept his eye on Lindsay. At first he notices that she is alone when she shouldn't be. A woman who looks like and is built like that shouldn't ever be alone in Sam's estimation. But when she surprises him in the storeroom all his nice intentions go out the window. And what takes their place is a passionate interlude. Only one night for Lindsay, but a lifetime for Sam.

How can you fight love when it shows up at the darndest times. Are Lindsay and Sam destined to be together? Only if they have faith in love and each other. Time will tell. One Thing To Give has you looking for a 'Sam' of your own. It's sweet and warm but also hot and sexy. Truly a must-read story.

Unexpected
Linc Carter wasn't too thrilled having to pour his buddy Nyle into bed, but then Nyle only gets totally drunk on his birthday. Being the designated driver kept Linc from drinking. With all this energy Linc decided to drive up to his cabin in the mountains tonight rather than tomorrow. There's nothing he looks forward to more than seven glorious days at his cabin.

Driving should have been a piece of cake and was, until something whizzed by the front of his truck. Getting out of the truck to look, Linc spots an unusual box. Taking it home he discovers an alien nestled inside. She's a little bitty thing, literally. She's a little longer than a ruler and unconscious.

What Linc and the alien Chandra discover is that even though they were separated by light years they are destined for each other. Lynn LaFleur has taken the 'little green men' story and created a modern day love story, and it is a love story. Would you be able to give up all you know? To take a leap and trust all that you are or ever hope to be to one specific person? Linc may think he's a nerd but he's the type of man every woman hopes to find. Unexpected is believable. Even though you might not believe in other life forms out there, this story opens up one possibility.

This is my first Lynn LaFleur book and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY has some wonderful segments in it. You can compare HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY to the three bears. While some weren't long enough others were just right. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY has an 'E' rating but I didn't find any graphic language normally found. My favorite was the The Birthday Gift, though all the stories are wonderful. What appeals to you? A ménage a trios or one man who will fulfill your every sexual fantasy? HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY has four stories to tempt every palate.
