"What's the good of being a Pleasure goddess if you can't feel emotions?"

Lita is a Polgaran Pleasure Goddess; she would like to have sex with her emotions involved so she wants to go to earth and study humans. She goes before the High Controllers and gets permission to leave paradise to study emotions for one year. But she can't bring any attention to Polgara. She packed for a nice hot island, but when she arrived at Manhattan Island, it was snowing.

In no time Lita's feet were frozen and she felt she would never get warm again. She notices a woman dropped items from her heavily laden arms. As she waits to give the woman her package, she is brought into a warm room by a man her empathic abilities tell her she has no reason to fear. Her first night on earth she finds out that she has a heart mate. She has never known a pleasure goddess to have a heart mate.

Ben Stanton had been little more than a shell of man for the last year. He had been a graphic artist when he disappeared for several days only to appear at his sisters with no emotions or talent left. Lita sets out to set Ben free. However the emotions that erupt between the two of them cause her to run the next day. When her year is just about up, Ben finds her again. He is determined that this time she won't get away. But Lita knows that she only has three days left. Can she really leave her heart mate now that they found each other again? Will the Polgaran law erase her memories of Ben?

Ms Raine wrote a story that really shows the depth of emotions even though it's a quickie. I loved the way Ben tries to find Lita. e realizes all along that she is the person he needs to be whole. Lita tries hard to keep her honorable intentions, but Love is stronger. This is a hot, steamy read, as well as well developed story. Don't pass this one up. This is book one of the Ellora's Cave 12 Quickies of Christmas.

Summary

Being a Polgaran Pleasure goddess isn't all it's cracked up to be. Sex isn't exactly boring, but it is just sex, limited emotion involved. Lita craves the intrigue of strong human emotions. Her wish is granted, to spend a year among humans, learning and experiencing their emotions. Then destiny throws her for quite a loop when she's pulled into Ben's arms and discovers just how wonderful love is. But the clock is ticking. If she stays, she'll lose everything, but if she leaves Ben, she'll lose even more.

This book is loosely connected to the Talisman Bay series, but can be read as a stand-alone.
