REVIEW

"Do you believe in Christmas miracles?"

One year ago, Foreign Service officer Nicole Caron's life changed dramatically. Within one week, she fell in love with an enigmatic, charming Italian -- only to have her heart broken when he left her without a goodbye. In the intervening year, she withdrew into herself, becoming the shell of the lively, vibrant woman she had been. Realizing a change in locale may help her regain her spirits, Nicole puts in for a transfer. But why was she sent to Italy, the last place she wants to be?

Alessandro della Torre does have secrets that he wasn't free to tell Nicole. He has been living on the memories of their week together to survive this very trying year. Now that he's free to go after her again, Alessandro hopes that she still has feelings for him. She is the light in his life, his Christmas angel. Life isn't bearable without Nicole in it.

To tell more will be a spoiler, but Ms. Rice's alpha hero is very much evident here. What does a wounded alpha male do to get back the love of his life? Whatever it takes... Though a very short story, readers can feel the love between Nicole and Alessandro.

Can a week-long love affair lead to life-long love? Ms. Rice provides us with the answer to this question in her heart-wrenching CHRISTMAS ANGEL. Be prepared for a few tears along the way, but you'll find them worth it. A story to put anyone in the true spirit of Christmas; love does make the world go 'round.

Sensuality: Rated E-rotic by the publisher. Explicit sex; sexually explicit scenes: 5.
